HL Challnge Last week
Sunday, February 12, 2012 at 2:29PM Can you believe we have 1 week left?? I am inspired at the remarkable results I'm seeing both physically and in the gym. Over the past 5 weeks I hope you have learned what works for you, what foods give you energy, make you tired, pre & post WOD favorites & overall feeling towards food. These are the keys that will keep you successful after this challenge. Don't let all this hard work go to waste. You are ahead of the game, you discplined youself beyond the cravings. NOW is when the real challenge begins. You no longer have a point system or a teammate to motivate you. It's back to just you. You made it this far, you know you can do it, so DON'T give in. The strength you have gained in will-power, workouts & life over these past 5 weeks will hopefully drive you to continue with this lifestyle.
Of course you all have earned a good cheat day but don't let that pull you off the "wagon". Enjoy your brownie smothered in ice cream chocolatey goodness but then pull yourself off the floor & start fresh the next day. REMEMBER all the hard work you have put in & let that drive you to stay strong.
Here is the breakdown for the week:
Monday: 2-13-12 Test WOD
*If you can not be here PLEASE let Mindy know so we can make it up
Monday: 2-20-12 Weigh in & Measurements
*I know this is Presidents Day so if you will be out of town get with Mindy before. Id like to have all the measurements done Monday no later than Tuesday.
Points will continue through Sunday Feb 19th. Make sure to bring your points on Monday for weigh ins. I'd like to have a WINNER determined by Friday the 24th.

So I think most people know my diet plan afterwards which is to stick to the healthy lifestyle- but incorporate a cheat day. I also will allow myself 2 glasses of wine ONLY if we have an event or it's a cheat day or friday night. Other than that- no wine. BUT- I did come across this. I have to admit- the elimination of peas/sugar snap peas/snow peas/green beans has been a struggle trying to get greens into my young family. We are basically left with brussle sprouts- broccoli- for hot green veggies. And this has been frustrating. We used to make green beans at least once a week. So I found this- see below- and I think I'll go back to allowing those.
From a paloe do's and dont's thing: Legumes (Beans, Peas, Peanuts):You might be thinking these are ok, but consider: even though I can find it in nature, can I eat it raw? And the answer to legumes is no. Go ahead, eat a raw kidney bean and tell me if it’s tasty. Prior to agriculture, legumes were very rare and were not a staple in our diets. They contain lectins, saponins or protease inhibitors that are bad news for our hormonal and immune system. See Rob’s book again for more info.
So I'm thinking- a green been does not fit into this category- because you CAN eat them raw- now see this: http://www.primaltoad.com/green-beans/
Green beans are back in our diet as of next week. (Not black or refried or any other kind, but at least green).
What I love most Sarah is that you are making these decisions based on what is good for you body rather than 'I just want them'...My job is done!
Thanks
Is that a crossfit endorsement and recognition of the fact that red wine is GOOD for my body and it's not just cuz "i want it"?
